Dan Strickler

Dan started in video back in the early eighties, shooting projects with clunky shoulder pack video recorders on ½ “ reel to reel tape.   Along the way, he’s worked for ABC, ESPN and VUE, an Emmy award winning production company he helped to create.  As a videographer, Dan has shot and edited well over 200 hours of video, including both corporate and private events,  cabaret and off-broadway productions.  His experience as a director/producer includes corporate, instructional and documentary projects.

Dan understands how to work with the “talent” and how to put them at ease, whether he’s making a nervous executive feel comfortable during an interview or coaxing a believable performance out of an employee who is being asked to “act” for the first time.

Dan comes to video with a B.A. in directing and an M.F.A in acting.

Experienced on both sides of the camera, Dan has a  twenty-two year career as an actor and has appeared in plays with some of the leading theaters in the country.  His credits include, soap opera, sit-com, industrial and feature film and over 150 commercials.   He is a member of all three acting unions, AFTRA, SAG and AEA.

He also brings his teaching and organizational skills to his work as producer/director. Dan has taught both classes in acting as well as coached actors privately.  He created and conducts workshops on “Acting for the Camera” and “Acting in Commercials”.  He is currently organizing a state-wide video workshop sponsored by Friends of New Jersey Teen Arts.

Dan is an active member and has received awards from both the Media Communications Association, International (MCA-I) and the North Jersey Videographers Association (NJVA).
